Abstract

A resource management method and an apparatus under a cluster system environment are disclosed here, in which multiple nodes are connected through network. The resource management method of a main controller in the cluster system is used to receive tasks being expected to be executed in the cluster system and a first idle task corresponding to the received task is generated, wherein resources of the first idle task distributed in physical nodes for the first idle task by a management unit of the physical resources are controlled and the first idle task is executed on the physical nodes; and a first virtual machine is generated on the distributed resources, wherein the first virtual machine is registered to be a virtual node of the cluster system, the received tasks are executed on the virtual node and application of resources by the virtual node is monitored during execution of the received tasks and the virtual node is adjusted when the virtual node is under an overload or a low loading state. Therefore, when the tasks are executed, the resources can be dynamically adjusted depending on the state of the resource application and thus the application of the system resources can be improved.
