Abstract

A wireless user equipment (UE) operating in a wireless communication system may operate in a state that does not allow soft handover from one cell to another (eg, CELL_FACH state in UMTS). This inability to participate in soft handover may lead to inter-cell interference at a non-serving cell when the UE transmits on its uplink next to the non-serving cell. Therefore, the present application provides a wireless communication method, the method comprising: receiving a set of neighbor cell identities indicating one or more neighbor cells; A relative grant channel resource index corresponding to the relative grant channel; detecting inter-cell interference associated with a user equipment (UE) in the one or more neighbor cells; sending a non-serving relative grant message to the UE on the relative grant channel.
