Embodiment Construction

[0051] figure 1 A schematic diagram of an elastic buffer module 100 related to the present invention is shown. Please refer to figure 1 , in this example, an auxiliary data adjustment unit 110 is placed at the write end of the elastic buffer 120 for sequentially writing the write data D_W into the buffer according to the write address AP_W. On the other hand, the elastic buffer module 100 also includes a status checking unit 130, which is used to monitor the data writing status of the transmitting side TX and the data reading status of the receiving side RX, and judge the operating status of the elastic buffer 120 accordingly. It is currently in an underbit state or an overflow state. Here, the status monitored by the status checking unit 130 is, for example, the data writing speed of the transmitting side TX and the data reading speed of the receiving side RX. Usually, the auxiliary data adjustment unit 110 will remove redundant auxiliary data or add auxiliary data in real...

Abstract

An elastic buffer module includes a memory unit, a write control module and a read control module. The memory unit is used to receive, store and output a data sequence from the transmission side. The write control module is used to remove at least part of the auxiliary data in the data sequence, and write the data sequence after the auxiliary data is removed to the memory unit. The read control module is used to read the data sequence stored in the memory unit, and add auxiliary data to the data sequence to adjust the writing status of the transmitting side and the reading status of the receiving side. In addition, a flexible buffering method for the transmission interface is also proposed.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a buffer module and a data buffering method, and in particular to an elastic buffer module of a transmission interface and a data buffering method thereof. Background technique [0002] High-speed transmission interfaces have been widely used in the transmission between computers or high-performance chips, such as high-speed peripheral component interconnect express (PCI Express), universal serial bus 3.0 (Universal Serial Bus 3.0, USB 3.0), etc. These high-speed transmission interfaces are usually composed of two pairs of low-voltage differential pairs, one for transmission and the other for reception. Usually, an endpoint close to the processor is called an upstream port (UP), and an endpoint far from the processor is called a downstream port (DP). The transmitting end of the upstream port is connected to the receiving end of the downstream port; the receiving end of the upstream port is connected to the transmitting...
