Abstract

A dishwasher comprises a tub configured to provide a washing space, an upper rack and a lower rack arranged in the tub to place washing objects thereon and a lower arm comprising a lower arm chamber configured to receive washing water therein, a coupling pipe chamber configured to communicate with the lower arm chamber via a chamber communication hole, and an arm channel configured to inject the washing water to the lower rack, in communication with the lower arm chamber via at least one arm channel communication hole. A water supply pump is configured to supply the washing water to the lower arm chamber. A tower nozzle is provided to inject the washing water to the upper rack with the tower nozzle including a tower connection part being detachable from the coupling pipe chamber and arranged to supply the washing water to the tower nozzle. A channel change unit is provided in the lower arm chamber to alternately open the chamber communication hole and the arm channel communication hole based on a water pressure inside the lower arm chamber. Other water distribution arrangements via the tower nozzle and the lower arm are also disclosed.
