A preparation process comprises the following steps: grinding and soaking dried folium artemisiae argyi, and extracting the folium artemisiae argyi through a steam distillation method to obtain two components, i.e., folium artemisiae argyi oil on upper layer and water on lower layer; collecting a mother solution in which distillate contains 0.1-0.15% of folium artemisiae argyi oil, to obtain a folium artemisiae argyi extract; adding the solubilizer and the pyrethrin to the mother solution in percentage by weight, uniformly stirring completely, filtering, inspecting, shading, bottling and sealing to obtain the air freshener.
