Abstract

A projector captures an image of a projection target, on which a projection image is projected, and corrects the projection image by using the captured image. The projector includes a projection unit that projects the projection image onto the projection target; a capture unit that captures an image of a projected region including the projection target; a calculation unit that calculates three-dimensional data regarding the projected region, and calculates a correction parameter, using the calculated three-dimensional data; and a correction unit that corrects the projection image using the correction parameter calculated by the calculation unit. The correction unit performs a first correction corresponding to a shape of the projection target using the distortion parameter, and performs a second correction corresponding to at least one of a movement of the projection unit and a movement of the projection target.

Description

technical field [0001] The disclosure herein generally relates to projectors and methods of controlling projectors. Background technique [0002] A projector can project an image (projected image) onto a projection target such as a screen. Some projectors measure the distance to the projected target and adjust the focus for the projected image. In addition, some projectors capture an image of a projected image, and adjust focus for the projected image based on the captured image. [0003] Japanese Laid-Open Patent Application No. 2011-170174 discloses a projection stabilization device that corrects misalignment of a projected image on a screen (projection target) even when the position of an optical projection device (projector) is changed by jogging, for example (misalignment). [0004] However, the projection stabilization device disclosed in Japanese Laid-Open Patent Application No. 2011-170174 corrects the entire captured image, and cannot correct the influence from j...
