Abstract

The invention relates to a glove construction comprising a glove and at least one protective element adapted to be applied on the dorsum portion of at least one phalanx region of at least one finger portion of the glove. According to the invention, said at least one protective element is made of rigid material and is shaped to cover the dorsum and side portions of the hand, leaving uncovered the palm portion of the at least one phalanx region. The at least one protective element is adapted to transmit compressive forces acting on the at least one phalanx region along a path surrounding the at least one phalanx region. According to the invention, the glove structure comprises at least one patch made of microfibrous material. At least one patch is secured to at least one phalanx region of at least one finger portion of the glove; said at least one protective element is applied to the glove so as to mate with said at least one patch. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing said glove structure.
