Abstract

Methods and apparatus are provided for scheduling resources and identifying resource scheduling in a MU MIMO wireless communication system. A method for identifying resource scheduling of a UE comprises: receiving downlink control information; identifying one or more DM-RS ports allocated to the UE and the data of PDSCH EPRE and DM-RS EPRE from the downlink control information and use the data of one or more DM-RS ports and the ratio of PDSCH EPRE to DM-RS EPRE to identify data for UEs in resource blocks in a downlink subframe. A method of scheduling resources includes identifying one or more DM-RS ports allocated to a UE and a ratio of PDSCH EPRE and DM-RS EPRE to identify data for the UE in resource blocks in a downlink subframe ; and including one or more DM-RS ports and an indication of the PDSCH EPRE and DM-RS EPRE ratios in the downlink control information.
