Problems solved by technology

[0008] The conventional wide-angle system and the optical system containing it are not suitable for use in the human eye alone, because the meaning is that the wide-angle area on the object plane is projected onto a defined small area on the image plane (film, camera chip)

Embodiment Construction

[0037] figure 1 An optical system with wide angle optics and a shift lens for an ophthalmic implant of an embodiment of the manual adjustment system is shown in cross-sectional view. The refractive power adjustment of the optical system is realized in the illustrated embodiment with a three-lens system comprising a lens system 2 with higher angular accommodation, a shift lens 3 and an additional lens 4 with a common optical axis 5 . In the example the biconcave shift lens is movable along the optical axis relative to the lens system and the supplementary lens. The supplementary lens ensures a patient-specific basic refractive power of the optical system and thus of the ophthalmic implant, allows compensation of deviations and serves as an access exit window of the adjustment system to the vitreous of the eye. The optical system shown comprises an optical assembly with lens system 2, which increases the angle of the three-lens optical system required for adjusting the desired ...

Abstract

A wide-angle optic for an ophthalmic implant in the eye. The task is to configure the wide-angle optics in such a way that it simultaneously ensures peripheral vision of the implant recipient in the central field of vision without restricting vision. This task is solved by wide-angle optics comprising a lens system (2) arranged rotationally symmetrically about an axis (5), comprising at least two lenses made of materials with different light refractive indices lying on top of each other in planes ( 8‑12) and a lens (4) arranged close to the interior of the eye and around which an optical outcoupling structure (6) is placed.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to wide angle optics for ophthalmic implants. Background technique [0002] Wide-angle optics are a preferred ophthalmic implant component for restoring accommodation. It includes optics with higher angular accommodation and outcoupling structures. It is not mandatory to include the optical adjustment mechanism of the adjustment system. The wide-angle optics form the optical system together with the optical adjustment and, if necessary, the individual exit surfaces or components. [0003] Ophthalmic implants are used in ophthalmology to restore and maintain vision. Simple implants are eg usual eye lenses that are replaced by exchanging them eg in case the eye lenses of the subject become darkened in fear of cataracts. Such lenses include single lenses. Also known in ophthalmology are bi- or multifocal lenses with two or more fixed focal lengths arranged in parallel, where the patient, after a training phase, is case-d...
