The program continuous playing method comprises the following steps: encrypting a unique identification code of the set top box and a software code of the set top box by using a pre-set encryption algorithm to obtain a secret key, wherein the unique identification code is used for uniquely identifying the set top box; signing a random number of the secret key through a pre-set signature algorithm to obtain first signature data; writing the unique identification code, the first signature data and the random number into the set top box; when the set top box is started, reading the unique identification code, the software code, the random number and the first signature data; decrypting the secret key by using the unique identification code and the software code, and signing a random number of the decrypted secret key through the signature algorithm to obtain second signature data; judging whether the second signature data is the same as the first signature data or not; if so, starting the set top box.
