An image is reproduced on the touch screen 4, and the user can touch the touch screen 4 using a predetermined tool such as a finger. In this case, the sound source at the touch point can be characterized and reproduced. As an example of characterization, only the sound source at the touch point may be reproduced, excluded from reproduction, suppressed in reproduction, or enhanced in reproduction.

[0046] The following will refer to Figure 4 The operation procedure of the sound reproduction method according to the first embodiment is described in more detail. Touch the touch screen (step S...

The image controller 6 detects the touch status and controls the touch screen 4 to display an identifier with a predetermined shape. Although in Figure 5 The medium identifier is shown in the shape of a square shaded area, but an identifier in the shape of a cursor or a cross could be used. Then, the sound sources contained in the area marked by the identifier and with orientation can be characteri...

Abstract

The present invention extracts azimuth information on a sound source, reads the touch state of a touch screen on which an image is displayed, and enables a sound source having azimuth information corresponding to a place touched on the image to be synthesized so as to be distinguished from other sound sources. According to the present invention, since it is possible to listen to the distinguished sound of a desired location on an image, a user may be provided with more satisfaction.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments relate to a sound reproducing device and a sound reproducing method. Background technique [0002] Those skilled in the art are generally aware of techniques for using stereophonic sound to find the orientation of the sound sources contained in the stereophonic sound. The technique is disclosed in a paper entitled "sound source separation: azimuth discrimination and resynthesis" co-authored by Dan Barry and Bob Lawlor (published in Proc. of the 7th Int. conference on Digital Audio Effects (DAFX-04), Naples, Italy , October 5-8, 2004) paper. According to the related art, the location of the sound source can be found using the IID (Interaural Intensity Difference) of the sound recorded through the stereo microphone. There has been provided a technique of reproducing each sound source from a plurality of sounds synthesized with each other using an IID and stored. According to this technique, each sound is merely reproduced without applying ...
