The invention discloses a method and a device for determining service time of residual electricity quantity of a mobile terminal. The method comprises the steps as follows: monitoring whether an application program started currently in the mobile terminal is a preset application program; obtaining historical power consumption data of the application program in the mobile terminal if the application program started currently in the mobile terminal is the preset application program, and calculating unit time power consumption of the application program according to the historical power consumption data; and calculating the service time of the residual electricity quantity of the mobile terminal based on the unit time power consumption of the application program, total power consumption weight of the mobile terminal in current operating environment and current residual electricity quantity of the mobile terminal. The method for determining service time of residual electricity quantity of the mobile terminal of the embodiment of the invention could obtain more accurate service time of the residual electricity quantity of the mobile terminal so as to provide accurate use guidance for a user to avoid the condition that the data is lost and the hardware is damaged because the mobile terminal is turned off under the condition that the user is unready, thereby improving user experience.
