Abstract

An embodiment of the invention discloses a fingerprint authentication method and a fingerprint authentication device. The fingerprint authentication method comprises the steps of: receiving a first fingerprint for carrying out operational input to user equipment; judging whether the first fingerprint is matched with a second fingerprint contained in preset fingerprint setting information; if not, judging whether the finger print is matched with a third fingerprint contained in fingerprint backup information corresponding to the user equipment; and if so, determining that the first fingerprint is successfully authenticated, and entering an operating interface corresponding to the first fingerprint. By implementing the fingerprint authentication method and the fingerprint authentication device, the problem of low efficiency since set fingerprint information is deleted and needs to be reset can be solved.
