Abstract

The results of alpha-glucosidase inhibition experiment show that taraxerol and 3[beta]-alnusonol can both inhibit the activity of alpha-glucosidase, the inhibition performance of taraxerol and 3[beta]-alnusonol is highly similar with that of a reference substance (acarbose), and thus the cardiospermum halicacabum extract can be used to treat diabetes.
