Problems solved by technology

This rotation of the screw relative to the tendon can result in injury, tearing, rupture, or misalignment of the tendon
This misalignment can alter the required tendon tension and positioning, resulting in cramping, discomfort, and anatomical asymmetry
Additionally, it is difficult to obtain the desired depth of the implant relative to the bone hole

Abstract

The present invention is entitled "Biceps Tenodesis Anchor Implant". The present invention provides various bone anchor assemblies and methods for anchoring tissue to bone. In one embodiment, an anchor assembly for anchoring a tendon to a bone is provided, the anchor assembly comprising a substantially cylindrical sheath having a bone engaging surface formed on an outer surface thereof and having an inner lumen formed therein extending from an open proximal end to a substantially closed distal end. The substantially closed distal end includes at least one tendon anchoring feature extending distally therefrom and configured to facilitate anchoring the tendon to the bone. The anchor assembly also includes a dilator having a generally elongated cylindrical configuration sized and shaped to be received within the inner lumen of the sheath.
