The method comprises: presetting a time for initially loading a kernel of an application program, so as to ensure completion of loading the kernel after starting the application program and before first data processing; when reaching the time for initially loading the kernel of the application program, initially loading the kernel; determining in real time whether the loading of the kernel is completed; and when loading of the kernel is completed, notifying a main thread of the application program, so as to enable the main thread of the application program to call the kernel for data processing. According to the method and apparatus disclosed by the present invention, loading of a kernel can be completed after starting an application program and before first data processing, so that the application program carries out data processing by using the kernel in a whole course instead of using an operating system with lower performance to carry out data processing, and a problem of low data processing efficiency when starting the application program for the first time is avoided.
