Provided is a system for automatically changing the screen distinguishing degree of an unlocking image. The system comprises a detecting module for enabling the lens of an electronic device to be automatically switched on when it is detected that the display screen of the electronic device is lightened; a color analysis module for analyzing a RGB value of an ambient environment light source signal sensed by a color sensor; a color control module for transmitting the RGB value to the display screen; and a display module for displaying an unlocking image with a RGB value equal to that of the ambient environment light source signal. The invention further provides a method for automatically changing the screen distinguishing degree of an unlocking image. The system and the method may change the distinguishing degree of the unlocking image in the environment, prevent the unlocking image from being easily seen by others when a user unlock a cell phone, enhance the secrecy of an unlocking password, and do not increase extra cost.
