The data processing method comprises the steps that a UI thread reads to-be-processed UI data; the UI thread sends indication information to a data thread; after receiving the indication information, the data thread reads and processes original data corresponding to the to-be-processed UI data; and converting the to-be-processed original data into UI data for replacing the to-be-processed UI data in the UI thread, and updating the original data to be the processed original data. According to the electronic device and the data processing method provided by the invention, the response speed of the UI of the program can be increased.
