Abstract

The invention discloses a UL-94 V0 level flame-retardant HIPS (high impact polystyrene) composite material and a preparation method thereof. The HIPS composite material is prepared from, by weight, 69-83.4% of HIPS, 12-20% of flame retardant, 0.1-0.5% of an anti-dropping agent, 1-1.4% of white oil, 3-7% of a compatilizer, 0.2-0.6% of an antioxidant and 0.3-1.5% of a lubricant. By addition of the anti-dropping agent into HIPS which serves as a matrix to improve combustibility of the HIPS material, efficient flame retardation is realized; by synergistic effects of the lubricant and the compatilizer, a two-phase separation state in the HIPS is improved while compatible dispersion of components is promoted, and accordingly a stable structure is formed; by synergistic effects of industrial-grade white oil and the lubricant, demoulding property and fluidity of the material in processing are improved, and excellent brightness and surface effects of the composite material can be achieved.
