The unlocking method comprises the steps of detecting whether the mobile terminal is hand-held by a user or not when the mobile terminal is in a sleeping state; detecting whether the face of the user is opposite to a touch screen of the mobile terminal or not when the mobile terminal is in the sleeping state; and unlocking the mobile terminal when the mobile terminal is hand-held by the user and when the face of the user is opposite to the touch screen. According to the unlocking method, the following steps are performed: detecting whether the mobile terminal is hand-held by the user or not when the mobile terminal is in the sleeping state; detecting whether the face of the user is opposite to the touch screen of the mobile terminal or not when the mobile terminal is in the sleeping state; and unlocking the mobile terminal when the mobile terminal is hand-held by the user and when the face of the user is opposite to the touch screen. Two conditions are detected at the same time, and only when the two conditions are both satisfied, unlocking is performed, so that wrong unlocking of the mobile terminal is avoided; and in addition, an independent operation by the user is not required in the whole process, so that convenience is brought to the use of the user, and the user experience is improved.
