Abstract

The present application relates to systems and methods for adaptive optical channel compensation. In systems generally related to adaptive optical channel compensation, the adaptation module (100) includes an analysis module (115) coupled to receive a first data signal (101) and a second data signal (102), and coupled to connected to provide the first information and the second information. A comparison module (113, 174) is coupled to compare the first information with the second information to provide third information. An adjustment module (114, 176) is coupled to receive the third information to provide fourth information to compensate for distortion in the second data signal (102) with reference to the first data signal (101). The second data signal (102) is associated with conversion from the first data signal (101) to an optical signal (311) for communication via an optical channel (312).

Description

technical field [0001] The following description refers to integrated circuit devices ("ICs"). More specifically, the following description relates to adaptive optical channel compensation for ICs. Background technique [0002] Optical signals are becoming more and more common in communication networks. Optical fiber provides a large amount of bandwidth, which is very useful for handling the increasing demand for bandwidth in communication networks. However, the non-linearity of devices in optical channels may limit the use of optical channels. Therefore, it is necessary and useful to control nonlinearities or other distortions in the optical channel. Contents of the invention [0003] An apparatus generally relates to adaptive optical channel compensation. In such an apparatus, the analysis module is coupled to receive the first data signal and the second data signal, and is coupled to provide the first information and the second information. A comparison module is c...
