Abstract

The invention relates to a device and method for measuring a volume of a corn seed. The device comprises a corn seed containing portion and a counterweight portion which are integrally connected and independent of space. No air flows between the corn seed containing portion and the counterweight portion. The corn seed containing portion comprises an opening, an aspirating hole, an opening sealing strip, and a hanging hole. The interior of the counterweight portion is a permanent vacuum environment where a weight is placed. According to the invention, according to the characteristic of irregular shapes of the corn seeds, fast and accurate measurement of the volume of a single corn seed; the corn seed is isolated from a liquid, thereby effectively preventing the corn seed from rapid expansion due to moisture after contacting with the liquid and greatly reducing measurement errors.
