Abstract

The present invention relates to a system for treating textiles comprising a household appliance with a plurality of selectable programs. The system also includes a portable device including a first component for analyzing at least one textile. The system also includes: a second component in signal communication with the first component; and an evaluation unit in signal communication with the second component for detecting at least one property of the textile product analyzed by the first component. The first component is configured to: generate and direct electromagnetic radiation towards the textile to be analyzed, receive electromagnetic radiation reflected from the textile to be analyzed, generate a first signal representative of the reflected electromagnetic radiation and transmit the first signal to the second part. The second component receives the first signal and sends the first signal to the evaluation unit. The evaluation unit receives and processes the first signal to generate, in response to the first signal, a second signal representing a processing program of the household appliance to be selected for the at least one textile product analyzed.
