The method comprises that data, including natural gas pressure parameters of an inlet and an outlet, of a natural gas line pressure control circuit is collected; an input-output model of the inlet and output pressure is established; natural gas pressure data of the inlet of the natural gas line serves as input, and a predicted output value is obtained via the input-output model; and the predicted output value is compared with the practically collected natural gas pressure data of the outlet of the natural gas line to obtain an error, and the performance of the control loop is evaluated on the basis of a minimum variance algorithm. Via the method and device, management staff is prompted automatically and timely when the performance of the pressure control loop tends to be decrease or an electric regulating valve has a fault, so that the labor intensity is reduced greatly, the operation and management efficiency is improved, and too wide pressure fluctuation and production accidents of sub natural gas distributing states can be avoided or reduced.
