Abstract

The embodiments of the invention provide a method, apparatus and system for detecting an operation state of a server. The method comprises the following steps: when a service request message to be sent exists, determining identification information of an object server from a locally stored normal server information table; according to the identification information of the object server, sending the service request message to the object server; judging a service response message corresponding to the service request message is obtained; if not, transferring the identification information of the object server to a fault server information table; and according to identification information of each server, included in the fault server information table, periodically sending a probe request message to each server, and after a probe response message returned by a first server is successfully obtained, transferring the identification information of the first server to the normal server information table. According to the embodiments of the invention, it is unnecessary to send the probe request messages to all the servers, less network resources are occupied, and the service performance of the servers is improved.
