The method comprises the steps of: receiving multiple use proportions in one-to-one correspondence with multiple data centres configured by a user from a user side, wherein the multiple use proportions are set by the user; receiving an uploading request for a target file from the user side; based on the multiple use proportions, determining the segmentation indication and the storage destination of the target file, so that the proportion of the total size of data blocks stored in each data centre of the multiple data centres in the size of the target file is the use proportion corresponding to the data centre; and, sending the segmentation indication and the storage destination to the user side, so that the user side is indicated to segment the target file, and store each data block obtained by segmentation in the corresponding data centre. By means of the distributed data storage method and device disclosed by the invention, users can adjust the use proportions of the various data centres by themselves according to requirements; furthermore, a central scheduling engine guides the user side to perform data processing; and thus, the user experience and the data security can be obviously improved.
