Abstract

The invention discloses a method for detecting growth character of cow through MYLK4 gene, and a special kit thereof. The method comprises the following steps: by taking cattle genome DNA as a template and a primer pair P as a primer, performing PCR amplification to obtain cattle MYLK4 gene; performing restriction endonucleate HhaI digestion to PCR product, and conducting agarose gel electrophoresis; and according to the electrophoresis result, identifying single nucleotide polymorphism of 61595th cattle MYLK4 gene. The single nucleotide polymorphism of the cattle MYLK4 gene can be detected by using the method and can be used for aided selection and molecular breeding of cattle and quicken the breeding speed of certified seed cattle as a molecular genetic marker closely related to cattle growth character.
