Embodiments of the invention provide a storage reliability test method and a server. The method comprises the steps of repeatedly executing a target step until a predetermined quantity of small filesare generated, wherein the target step comprises operation of generating random numbers, determining file sizes of the small files by the random numbers, and storing the file sizes in size variables;obtaining a reliable random number sequence, and based on the reliable random number sequence, generating the small files with random contents and the file sizes indicated by the size variables; and according to the predetermined quantity of the small files, performing a storage reliability test on a to-be-tested storage device to obtain a storage reliability test conclusion. According to the storage reliability test method provided by the embodiment of the invention, the reliability of the storage reliability test conclusion can be improved; and the test demands of storage devices with different specifications can be met.
