The invention also provides a remote meter reading method. The method comprises the following steps that S1, the photographing device photographs the to-be-read information displayed by the dial plate and generating the picture; S2, the centralprocessing chip analyzes and processes the picture generated by the photographing device and extracts the information of the image; S3, the transmitter transmits the extracted information to the server; and S4, the server receives and stores the extracted information.
