The invention discloses an obscured homalomena rhizome tissue culture method. An obscured homalomena rhizome is an Araceae plant and is the dry rhizome of homalomena occulta (Lour.) Schott. The methodcomprises the steps that rhizomes are harvested in Spring and Autumn, leaves and seedlings are removed, soil is cleaned away, the processed rhizomes are dried, or the rhizomes are dried after the skin is scraped off. The rhizomes are shaped like cylinders or are slightly flat and bend slightly. The surface is rufous or yellowish-brown; the rhizomes are rough and have multiple twisted longitudinalgrooves and yellow-white fiber bundles; the rhizomes are crisp and likely to be broken, the cross section is rufous, seems like resin and has many fiber bundles which are exposed and circular oil spots with luster. The smell is fragrant, and the taste is acrid and slightly bitter. The best rhizomes are hard, rufous and rich in fragrance. The rhizomes contain volatile oil including pinene, linalool and perilla aldehyde. Accordingly, stems, with buds, of the obscured homalomena rhizome serve as explant, regeneration in vitro of the obscured homalomena rhizome is achieved through the processes such as bud induction, bud-propagation culture, rooting culture, seedling exercising and transplanting, and technical support is provided for a large amount of breeding, rapid propagation and new species popularization.
