Abstract

The present invention relates to a blocking linkage for selectively locking a sliding recliner. The slide recliner is operable to move between a stowed position, a TV viewing position and a fully reclined position. The blocking linkage includes a sliding bracket having forward and rear sliding links pivotally coupled thereto. The rear sliding link is connected with an outwardly extending blocking pin. The load link is pivotally coupled to the bottom of the front slide link and the rear travel link. A rear blocking cam is pivotally coupled to the load link. Similarly, the front blocking cam is also pivotally coupled to the load link. When the slide recliner is moved from the stowed position to the TV viewing position and the fully reclined position, the rear blocking cam and the front blocking cam are operably coupled to cooperatively engage a blocking pin on the rear sliding link, preventing the rear sliding link from moving ( Sliding of the load-carrying link bearing is thus prevented).
