The dish identification and cashier system based on image identification includes a cashiertray for containing dishes, a cashier area for arranging the cashier tray, a CCD camera fixed just above the cashier area, an image identification module which is connected with the CCD camera, and acashier module which is connected with the image identification module. The dish identification and cashier method based on image identification includes the steps: 1) image shooting: by means of theCCD camera fixed just above the cashier area, shooting the dishes in the cashier tray, and transmitting the shot three-channel color images to the image identification module; 2) image identification:performing detection and identification on the transmitted images by means of the image identification module, counting the dish varieties and the quantity of each variety in the images, and transmitting the counting results to the cashier module in real time; and 3) generation of bills: according to the preset price of the dishes, calculating the bills by the cashier module, and after settlementof bills, recording the bill data into a cashier database. Compared with the prior art, the dish identification and cashier system and method based on image identification have the advantages of being quick and convenient, and being low in cost.
