Abstract

The invention provides a method and an apparatus for monitoring a permanent-magnet residual magnetism condition of a generator. The method comprises the following steps: (A) detecting a voltage outputwhen the generator is in no-load operation; (B) determining an electric angular velocity of the generator based on a detected voltage; (C) calculating a magnetic flux of the generator according to the detected voltage and a determined electric angular velocity; and (D) determining the permanent-magnet residual magnetism condition of the generator based on a calculated magnetic flux. According tothe method and the apparatus, the permanent-magnet residual magnetism condition of the generator of a wind turbine generator system can be monitored conveniently and accurately.
