Abstract

The invention discloses a planar array DOA (direction of arrival) estimation method and device. The planar array DOA (direction of arrival) estimation method includes the following steps that: step 1,a planar array is adopted to receive signals from at least one signal source, wherein the planar array comprises at least one parallel co-prime array, wherein the parallel co-prime array comprises co-prime linear sub-array pairs which are parallel to each other; step 2, the virtual received signals of the co-prime linear sub-array pairs are calculated and constructed on the basis of the actuallyreceived signals of the co-prime linear sub-array pairs; and step 3, the numerical value of the DOA of the at least one signal source is estimated on the basis of the virtual received signals of the co-prime linear sub-array pairs. The method and device can be applied to conditions where array size is limited and real-time requirements are high. With the planar array DOA (direction of arrival) estimation method and device of the invention adopted, low-complexity and high-accuracy direction of arrival estimation can be effectively provided with fewer array elements.
