An apparatus (e.g., a user equipment) may identify one or more network slices based on at least one of an access category of the apparatus, an identifier of the one or more network slices, or an index value of the one or more network slices. The apparatus may select a random access channel (RACH) configuration from a set of RACH configurations based on at least one of an access identity of the apparatus or the identified one or more network slices. The apparatus may transmit a random access message based on the RACH configuration.

A tensor decomposition-based xl-ris-assisted channel estimation method for terahertz communication systems

This invention relates to a channel estimation method for ultra-large-scale intelligent metasurfaces (XL-RIS)-assisted terahertz (THz) systems based on tensor decomposition. Specifically, it includes: designing a joint training protocol for XL-RIS phase shift and multi-user pilot signals; acquiring uplink received signals and constructing their covariance matrix; deriving an approximate expression for the near-field XL-RIS array response and designing a sampling scheme based on the spatial structure of the signal covariance to achieve effective decoupling of channel parameters; proposing an angle estimation algorithm based on tensor decomposition to recover angle parameters at the XL-RIS location using channel sparsity; designing a distance estimation algorithm based on truncated singular value decomposition (t-SVD) to search for distance parameters using the estimated angles; and finally, using least squares to estimate path loss and reconstruct the complete channel. This invention achieves high-precision channel estimation with low training overhead, effectively solving the estimation problem of strongly coupled near-field channel parameters, and providing an efficient solution for channel modeling and system design of XL-RIS-assisted near-field THz systems.

This invention discloses a distributed XL-MIMO near-field channel estimation method and system based on a cooperative mechanism. In the distributed XL-MIMO near-field system, reference access points and non-reference access points are divided. A unified near-field parameterized expression model for Loss-of-Stake (LoS) and Non-LoS (NLoS) components is constructed by characterizing the coupling relationship between angle and distance parameters. A channel parameter correlation mapping mechanism is established based on the access point deployment topology. LoS component cooperative parameter estimation is completed using a uniform quantization codebook and continuous domain gradient correction. After cancelling the LoS components, a sparse representation model of the NLoS components is constructed, and NLoS component cooperative parameter estimation is achieved through sparse reconstruction and continuous domain gradient correction. Finally, the near-field channel of each access point is reconstructed. This invention reduces parameter dimensionality and pilot overhead, improving the channel estimation accuracy and robustness of the distributed XL-MIMO near-field system.
