1076 results about "Information reporting" patented technology

Informational reports do not have an argumentative slant. Their goal is to give people the facts so that the reader can make a decision, not the writer. The writer should maintain a neutral attitude when presenting the facts, but spare no energy when it comes to researching in depth and writing clearly.

Apparatus and system for remotely updating and monitoring the status of a vehicle

A vehicle status device and system for remotely updating and monitoring the status of a vehicle. The vehicle status device is located in a vehicle and reports status information for the vehicle and an owner to an interrogating unit. The device includes a database of status information for the vehicle and owner. An update receiver in the device receives updated information from a wide area paging network for storage in the database. An interrogation receiver receives an interrogation signal from the interrogating unit, and a response transmitter transmits encoded status information, including a vehicle identification (VID), to the interrogating unit in response. The updating and monitoring system also includes an interrogating unit which includes an interrogation transmitter for transmitting the interrogation signal to the vehicle status device, and a response receiver for receiving the encoded status information from the vehicle status device. A processor decodes the encoded status information and translates it into plain language for presentation to an operator. The system may be implemented as a ticket-less toll system by providing a database of subscribers in which VIDs are matched to subscriber identities, credit card information, and current status as valid subscribers.

Methods, apparatuses and systems facilitating management of airspace in wireless computer network environments

Methods, apparatuses and systems facilitating the management of wireless computer network environments and the detection of rogue and other devices that may affect the performance and/or security of the wireless computer network. The present invention enables accurate and cost effective WLAN airspace mapping. In one embodiment, the present invention allows any conforming access point the ability to routinely scan its airspace, collect data on all operating frequencies and report this information back to a management platform. In one embodiment, the management and reporting functionality described herein uses a standards-based vehicle, such as Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). In one embodiment, the present invention allows for detection of all wireless traffic within or affecting an enterprise's computer network environment, picking up all active access points (Ad Hoc or Infrastructure) and all wireless clients data regardless of SSID, channel, or security settings. The management platform, according to an embodiment of the present invention, analyzes information received from the access points under management to detect and report the state of the computer network environment. In one embodiment, the present invention facilitates isolation of rogue wireless devices affecting the computer network environment and effective decision-making as to management of the detected device. The present invention also allows network administrators to optimize the configuration of the wireless network environment for performance and security.

Targeted advertisement using television viewer information

A novel multiple channel architecture is designed to allow targeted advertising directed to television terminals connected to an operations center or a cable headend. Advertisements are displayed during commercial breaks in the television programs. Such advertisements may be broadcast on the same channel as the television program. In addition, feeder channels may carry alternate advertising that may be better suited for certain viewing audiences. The operations center or the cable headend generate a group assignment plan that assigns the television terminals to groups, based on factors such as area of dominant influence, household income and other demographic data, and programs watched data gathered by the television terminals. A switching plan is then generated that instructs the television terminals to remain with the program channel or to switch to one of the alternate feeder channels during the program breaks. The television terminals record which channels were viewed during the program breaks, and report this information to the cable headends and the operations center. The reported information is used to generate billing for commercial advertisers, and to analyze viewer watching habits. The invention uses upstream data reception hardware, databases and processing hardware and software to accomplish these functions.

Power Monitoring and Analysis System for Identifying and Tracking Individual Electrical Devices

The invention is a method for measuring and processing a plurality of electrical parameters of a common alternating current (AC) service that supplies multiple different electrical devices such that the power use rate and total power used by each of multiple devices is determined. Sensors provide high resolution signals corresponding to the current and voltage of the AC power supplied to the service panel typical of those used in residential construction. Analog-to-digital conversion and processing circuits determine multiple electrical parameters with high resolution at a sampling rate sufficient to determine the electrical parameters for approximately each AC cycle. The electrical parameters are stored as a large data set in a memory with sufficient capacity to store several months of electrical parameters representing each AC cycle. The data set is processed to extract complete on-off cycles of the devices. The on-off cycles are represented by instance structures. The characteristics of the instance structures are used to determine device structures. Each device structure characterizes one of the multiple devices. The contributions associated with the extracted instance structures are subtracted from the data set, making is possible to extract additional instance structures from the residual information in the data set. Information from the device structures are used to help extract instances structures that are partially obscured by overlapping instance structures. The newly extracted instances structures are subtracted from the data set and processing continues until no more instance structures can be extracted. Information from the extracted instance structures and device structures are further grouped and processed to provide useful information reports to a consumer. As the electrical parameters are determined and added to the data set, they can be incrementally processed so that near real time information can be provided to the consumer. The cost of operating each device and other information enables the consumer to make informed decision regarding energy use and conservation.

Drug and medical device safety and support information reporting system, processing device and method

A reporting system, including a processing device, and method provides drug and medical device safety and support information during a workflow of a healthcare provider. The system and method electronically acquires, maps, generates, compiles, verifies and transfers in real time critical information regarding particular drugs and medical devices required by healthcare providers, such as a prescriber, at the optimum time in which the healthcare provider needs the information. In an embodiment, the drug and medical device safety information is accessed from an associated healthcare website, such as an Electronic Health Record (EHR) web site, during a prescription stage in the healthcare providers workflow for a particular patient. The system and method also includes an adverse reporting system that allows for the drug and medical device safety information to be updated and accurately reported in an efficient and up to date manner. In an embodiment, a healthcare provider reports an adverse event or reaction to a drug by a patient during a workflow at a EHR web site. The adverse event information is forwarded to the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and the particular drug manufacturer which may update the corresponding drug information. The updated drug information may then be reported by the system to insure that healthcare providers receive the most current, accurate and complete safety information during a workflow. In embodiments, the updated drug and medical information may be provided to malpractice insurance carriers to further ensure safety.
