Abstract

Embodiments of the application provide a method and a device for predicting DAU (Daily Active User). The method comprises the steps of: determining to predict DAU of a target product on an Nth onlineday; acquiring DNU (Daily New User) of the target product from the first online day to the Nth online day; determining a daily new retention rate of the target product from the first online day to the(N-1)th online day according to at least two preset retention rate prediction functions; and determining the DAU of the target product on the Nth online day according to the DNU from the first onlineday to the Nth online day as well as the daily new retention rate from the first online day to the (N-1)th online day. In the method of the embodiment of the application, it is considered that as time goes on, in different time periods of a service life of the product, attenuation degrees of the actual retention rates in the different time periods are variable, thus different retention rate prediction functions are generated for the different time periods of the service life of the product, so as to provide an accurate statistical algorithm for predicting the DAU, thereby accurately predicting the DAU.
