The method comprises the steps of showing a message notification for a target application, and detecting an inquiry indication corresponding to the message notification; if the inquiry indication is detected, triggering a currently running game application to enter an onhook state, and displaying message content corresponding to the message notification; and if it is detected that the game application is in the onhook state, lowering a frame rate for a drawing operation by an image processing module. Through adoption of the method, when the game application enters the onhook state, the frame rate of the game is lowered, so that the power consumption is reduced.
