System for the production of a dynamic image for display

A system for the production of a dynamic image for use in holography includes a light source (16) which travels via a liquid crystal modulator (18) placed in the path of the light source (16). The output of the LC modulator (18) passes modulated light through a lens array (22) which itself guides light to an optically addressed spatial light modulator (24). The resulting real image from the optically addressed spatial light modulator (24) may be used in holography. The addressing frame-rate of the liquid crystal modulator (18) is substantially greater than the frame-rate of the optically addressed spatial light modulator (24).

In an automobile drive recorder, if a detection signal indicating an occurrence of an abnormal driving state is output by an abnormal state detection sensor, image data of a scene taken by a monitoring camera is recorded for a period with a particular length together with additional information associated with the driving state into a record memory as drive record data. The automobile drive recorder includes a magnetic sensor serving as the abnormal state detection sensor adapted to detect a magnetic field in a close region around the automobile, approaching vehicle detection means for detecting an abnormally approaching vehicle by detecting a change at a rate greater than a predetermined value in the signal level of the detection signal output by the magnetic sensor, and frame rate switching means for controlling the frame rate at which to record the image data.

Memory Management In Event Recording Systems

A vehicle event recorder is provided that includes a camera for capturing a video as discrete image frames, and that further includes a managed loop memory and a management system for generating a virtual ‘timeline dilation’ effect. To overcome size limits in the buffer memory of the video event recorder, the maximum time extension of a video series is increased by enabling a reduction in temporal resolution in exchange for an increase in the temporal extension. Memory cells are overwritten in an ‘interleaved’ fashion to produce a reduced frame rate for the recording of certain time periods connected to an event moment. In time periods furthest from the event moment, the resulting frame rate is minimized while in time periods closest to the event moment, the resulting frame rate is maximized.

Power-saving method for an optical navigation device

A power-saving method for an optical navigation device is proposed, wherein the image capture frame rate of a sensor is controlled according to the moving speed of the optical navigation device. The image capture frame rate is determined based on the variations of a horizontal displacement and a vertical displacement of the optical navigation device for saving power. Moreover, when the optical navigation device is in the sleeping mode, it is not necessary to generate a current to drive the sensor to monitor whether the optical navigation device moves or not. A displacement detector (e.g., a mechanical displacement trigger) is used instead to generate a current for breaking off the sleeping mode to accomplish the power-saving object.

Imaging apparatus and flicker detection method

An exposure control unit 15 controls a charge accumulation time for a CMOS sensor 10. The CMOS sensor 10 captures an image P1 with a charge accumulation time T1 and an image P2 with a charge accumulation time T2. Accelerated occlusion culling using directional discretized occluders and system therefore

An occlusion culling method for image processing and system therefor. The culling method first determines which polygons are hidden, or occluded, by other objects. These hidden or occluded polygons will not contribute to the final scene and, therefore, need not be rendered. In the first major step, the input models are preprocessed to build a hierarchical data structure which is as an approximation to the input models. Simple polygonal occluders are determined for substitution in place of the complex image geometry in successive visibility queries. Once the first preprocessing step is complete, the second step may be executed at run-time, while a user is inspecting, or visualizing, the input. In the second step, the occluders, determined in the first step, are used to selectively forego rendering shapes or shape portions that are unseen from the current viewpoint.

Method for automatically regulating Camera frame rate of mobile terminal and mobile terminal

The invention discloses a method for automatically regulating the Camera frame rate of a mobile terminal and the mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps: setting a first threshold and a second threshold, comparing a current frame image and an adjacent previous frame image, acquiring a pixel difference quantity, recording the pixel difference quantity, judging whether the pixel difference quantity between any two adjacent images in a time interval before current time is smaller than the first threshold or not when the pixel difference quantity is smaller than the first threshold, and if so, setting the frame rate of a Camera output image as a first frame rate; and when the pixel difference quantity is greater than the second threshold, setting the frame rate of the Camera output image as a second frame rate. According to the mobile terminal disclosed by the invention, a Camera is in a static state if the pixel difference quantity within a certain time interval is smaller than the first threshold, and the frame rate of the Camera output image is set as the first frame rate, so that energy is saved for the mobile terminal. If the pixel difference quantity is greater than the second threshold, the Camera is in a shooting state, and the frame rate of the Camera output image is set as the second frame rate, so that the frame rate of the output image is reduced, and energy is saved for the mobile terminal.
