Method for monitoring alternating current discharge on a double electrode and apparatus

Process for monitoring an alternating-voltage discharge between the electrodes of a double electrode and an apparatus. The process includes measuring values of at least one of a discharge current and a discharge voltage for each half-wave within an alternating-voltage discharge period, determining a difference between the measured values of a second half-wave and the measured values of the first half-wave, and comparing the determined differences to specific tolerance values. When the specific tolerance values are exceeded by the determined differences, a power supply is reduced, whereby the discharge is at least briefly suppressed. The apparatus includes a double magnetron including first and second targets arranged to form a double electrode, and a power supply coupled to supply power to the first and second targets. The power supply includes a measurement unit for measuring values of at least one of discharge current and discharge voltage, such that at least one of a discharge current and a discharge voltage for each half-wave within an alternating-voltage discharge period is measured. A device for determining a difference between the measured values of a second half-wave and the measured values of the first half-wave is provided, as well as a device for comparing the determined differences to specific tolerance values, and a device for at least briefly suppressing the discharge when the specific tolerance values are exceeded by the determined differences.

Liquid ejection method

A liquid ejection method includes a step of preparing a liquid ejection head including an electrothermal transducer element for generating thermal energy contributable to ejection of liquid, an ejection outlet for ejecting the liquid, the ejection outlet being provided at a position opposed to the electrothermal transducer element, and a liquid flow path in fluid communication with the ejection outlet to supply the liquid to the ejection outlet and having the electrothermal transducer element on its bottom side; and a step of applying the thermal energy to the liquid to cause the liquid to undergo a change of state and thus to create a bubble. The liquid is ejected through the ejection outlet by the pressure of the bubble. The bubble is first in communication with ambience during reduction of the volume of the bubble after the bubble reaches a maximum volume.

Multifunctional integrated filter and breathing conduit

InactiveUS20050188990A1Minimizing mixing spaceReduced dimensionRespiratorsBreathing filtersMedical wasteCatheter
A device for use in constructing a breathing circuit has at least a first tube and a filter; the filter has a proximal and a distal end; the first tube is attached to the filter distal end. A second tube can be attached to the filter proximal end, wherein the second tube can be detached from the filter for reuse in a breathing circuit formed with the foregoing components. The filter and the first tube may be disposed of after a single use. The first tube has a length sufficient to maintain the filter at a desired distance from a patient airway device when connected thereto. In a preferred embodiment, a fresh gas outlet is provided at the distal end of the first tube resulting in minimal or substantially no mixing space in the circuit, while the disposable first tube and filter create less medical waste than that created by prior art circuits. Mixing space refers to space distal of the fresh gas outlet into the circuit where the fresh gases can mix with recirculated or other gases. In embodiments, the mixing space is less than 15 cm3 or less than about 5 cm3, and the distal disposable filter and tube device is less than 50 cm in length.

Method for measuring distances and speeds of several objects by means of an fmcw radar

A method for measuring distance and velocity at a plurality of objects using FMCW radar, in which measurements are repeated cyclically using at least two different frequency ramps, in each measurement, the transmitted signal is mixed with the received signal, and the spectrum of the mixed signal is recorded, in a matching procedure, the peaks that are in the spectra recorded for various ramps and that belong to the same object are allocated to each other, and the distances and velocities of the objects are calculated from the frequencies of the peaks, and in a tracking procedure, the objects measured at various times are identified with one another on the basis of the consistency of their distance and velocity data, wherein each measuring cycle includes not more than three measurements with different frequency ramps, for each plausible combination of two peaks, of which one was recorded during a first measurement and the other was recorded during a second measurement of the same cycle, the distance and the velocity of one possible object represented by these peaks are calculated, the anticipated result of at least one further measurement is calculated from the distance and the velocity of the possible object, and the possible object is discarded if at least one anticipated result does not agree with the measured result.

Traffic flow prediction method and device by employing spatial and temporal distribution features

The present invention relates to the field of traffic monitoring, especially to a traffic flow prediction method and device by employing spatial and temporal distribution features. The method and thedevice convert a GPS track of a vehicle within a period of time to multi-frame image data by taking preset time as an interval, input the multi-frame image data into a convolutional neural network, combine a residual network to obtain integrated traffic flow distribution within a period of time, perform prediction of a normal distribution model for the traffic flow distribution and output a normaldistribution model prediction result. The traffic flow prediction method and device combine the spatial and temporal distribution features to avoid large deviation at the aspect of the prediction result, increase the credibility of the prediction result, fully employ the spatial-and-temporal traffic information, predict the traffic condition of a city within a period of time in future through thecity historical traffic flow information and real-time area traffic flow information so as to better meet an intelligent traffic system and provide demands for traffic information service, traffic control and guidance.

Vehicle cruise control device and method

A maximum permissible acceleration is calculated so as to take into account vehicle stability, driver's comfort, road surface information and traffic information, driver's specific taste in acceleration and deceleration, and the like. An acceleration limiting process is carried out, in which a feedback gain in vehicle speed feedback control is corrected as may be necessary based on a relationship between the maximum permissible acceleration and actual acceleration information so as to keep the actual acceleration within the maximum permissible acceleration. The present invention thereby makes it possible to control a vehicle speed within a desired acceleration range even under conditions, in which there is a large vehicle speed deviation as in a resume mode, causing an excessively large acceleration or deceleration to tend to occur. Auto cruise control offering an outstanding safety and comfort can thus be implemented.
