A tool holder includes a shank portion, a head portion that includes an insert pocket defined by a seat surface, a first or radial support sidewall and a second or axial support sidewall, and a spherical contact point protruding from one of the first and second support sidewalls. The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for plating a conductive material on a workpiece surface in a highly desirable manner. Using a workpiece-surface-influencing device, such as a mask or sweeper, that preferentially contacts the top surface of the workpiece, relative movement between the workpiece and the workpiece-surface-influencing device is established so that an additive in the electrolyte solution disposed on the workpiece and which is adsorbed onto the top surface is removed or otherwise its amount or concentration changed with respect to the additive on the cavity surface of the workpiece. Plating of the conductive material can place prior to, during and after usage of the workpiece-surface-influencing device, particularly after the workpiece surface influencing device no longer contacts any portion of the top surface of the workpiece, to achieve desirable semiconductor structures.

The invention concerns a machine for collecting and sorting waste comprising a frame (2) with a base (3) resting on the floor and a front face (5) in which an opening (7) is made, allowing access to a waste insertion zone (8), the machine further comprising, inside the frame (2), means (50) of recognizing waste, a waste sorter (40) and means (20, 23) of storing sorted waste comprising at least two containers (20), the machine comprising:

The machine can also comprise means for compacting waste.

The invention provides vascular access methods, systems and devices facilitating long-term, repeated, percutaneous access to a patient's blood stream. This is provided by an access tube apparatus adapted for anastomosis to the sidewall of a target anatomical vessel. The access tube has a replaceable occluder that fits within the conduit of the access tube in between blood treatments or when vascular access is otherwise not needed. When such access is desired, the percutaneously accessible occluder is simply removed from the access tube.

There have been past proposals for air vehicles employing the Coanda effect. In these proposals, a jet of fluid, usually air, is made to flow radially outwardly over 5 a dome-shaped canopy to create lift. A cross-section through the canopy is curved to follow a segment of a circle or it may have a radius of curvature that increases in the direction of flow. A lead frame having a die thereon connects a high current conductive area on the die to a lead frame contact using a copper clip that includes a structure portion that is received with a recess-like “tub” formed in the lead frame contact. An underground fluid storage structures formed by mechanical excavation of a subsurface formation in a controlled fashion. The structure comprises vertical holes (260, 270) and transversal caverns (256) of circular section and preferably in spiral arrangement. Storage caverns as described herein may further employ hydraulic pressure compensation to prevent wide pressure variations in the storage caverns, and to provide relatively constant injection and discharge pressures when introducing or releasing stored fluids. The preferred application is compressed air energy storage (CAES) systems for storing energy in the form of compressed air in order to generate electricity.

A pulse transformer for use in a high frequency motor controller to isolate the electronic control stages from the power stages in a motor controller. The primary and secondary windings are wound on a common ferrite core and spaced apart from one another. The wire size used for the windings is relatively small (gauge 37 or less). The present invention relates to a wavelength-tunable laser, which can tune an oscillating laser wavelength and can be manufactured in a small size, comprising: a laser diode chip (100) for emitting a laser beam; a partial reflection mirror (500) for optical feedback, which partially reflects the beam emitted from the laser diode chip (100) so as to enable the reflected beam to be fed back to the laser diode chip (100); a collimation lens (200) provided on an optical path between the laser diode chip (100) and the partial reflection mirror (500) for optical feedback so as to collimate the beam emitted from the laser diode chip (100); a wavelength-tunable selective filter (300) for converting the wavelength transmitted according to the temperature; a phase compensator (350) of which a refractive index is changed according to the temperature and which offsets a change in the refractive index according to the temperature of the semiconductor laser diode chip (100) or the wavelength-tunable selective filter (300); and a 45 degree reflection mirror (400) for switching the direction of the laser beam from the laser beam traveling in the horizontal direction with respect to a bottom surface of a package, to the laser beam traveling in the vertical direction with respect to the bottom surface of the package, wherein the laser diode chip (100), the wavelength-tunable selective filter (300), and the phase compensator (350) are disposed at an upper part of a thermoelectric element (900) so as to change the wavelength oscillating according to a change in the temperature of the thermoelectric element (900).

A package for delivery of a tacky product includes a carrier tape with a plurality of cavities separately disposed along a length thereof. Each of the cavities in the carrier tape includes a base that is sized to operably receive and support the product. The base of each cavity includes a surface profile which defines a contact surface area that is sufficiently low so as to facilitate removal of the product from the cavity without damage to the product. In some cases, the contact surface area is less than about 50% of a base surface area of the base. The carrier tape may be configured for use in tape and reel packaging systems.

There is provided a container for packaging a perishable food item, such as meat, particularly fresh red meat. The container has a tubular body portion that is closed at one end and has a tubular body portion. The other end of the tubular body portion has an open mouth and has a cross-section preferably substantially equal to that of the body portion. The cross-section of the tubular body portion may have a variety of shapes. In a preferred embodiment, the tubular body portion has a flat bottom. A semiconductor module includes an IGBT and a MOSFET. The IGBT is made of a silicon semiconductor. The MOSFET is made of a wide-bandgap semiconductor having a wider bandgap than the silicon semiconductor. The IGBT and the MOSFET are connected in parallel to each other to form a semiconductor element pair. The IGBT has a greater surface area than the MOSFET. The semiconductor module is configured to operate in a region that includes a low-current region and a high-current region. Electric current flowing through the semiconductor element pair is higher in the high-current region than in the low-current region. In the low-current region, the on-resistance of the MOSFET is lower than the on-resistance of the IGBT. In contrast, in the high-current region, the on-resistance of the IGBT is lower than the on-resistance of the MOSFET.

The palette preferably has a medium color value or is white to allow the user to judge and facilitate the mixing of paint colors. The palette is also preferably part of a system including a storage and transportation case that also allows the case, including the palette, to be stored in a refrigerator or freezer.

The present invention relates to a multi-core fuel rod for research reactor and a manufacturing method thereof and, more particularly, to a multi-core fuel rod for research reactor in which monolithic fuel cores made of uranium-molybdenum alloy are disposed in an aluminum matrix in a multi-core form, and a manufacturing method thereof. The multi-core fuel rod in accordance with the present invention provides a minimized contact surface area between nuclear fuel and aluminum, and reduces the formation of pores and swelling by restraining formation of reaction layer to avoid excessive reaction between the fuel and aluminum. Therefore, improved stability of nuclear fuel can be obtained by minimizing temperature rise as well as achieving high density and thermal conductivity of the fuel.

An optical pickup apparatus for an optical disc drive, including: a base; a turntable disposed above the base and which rotates an optical disc; an optical pickup unit which reciprocates with respect to the turntable in a radial direction of the turntable; a driving part which moves the optical pickup unit with respect to the turntable; and a guide unit having an auxiliary guide which supports an end of the optical pickup unit and which guides the optical pickup unit along a moving path. The sliding member extends in the vertical direction of the plumbing arrangement element, and it is vertically movable between an extreme position and a second position. The pipe mount further comprises at least one pipe bracket for securing the pipe sections onto the sliding member. A system and a method for connecting pipe sections are also disclosed.
