The method comprises the steps of, when a navigation link of a to-be-displayed application is obtained, comparing the page width of the application with a preset width threshold value; when the page width is smaller than the width threshold value, generating a main screen content box in a screen, and displaying page contents of the application through the main screen content box; and when the page width is greater than the width threshold value, generating a first split-screen content box and a second split-screen content box which are adjacent to each other in the screen, and displaying page contents of different parts of the application through the first split-screen content box and the second split-screen content box respectively.
