A method and apparatus for generate prompt information are disclosed in embodiment of that present application. One embodiment of the method includes obtaining current operation information of a driver of a target vehicle, the current operation information being used to indicate a current operation performed by the driver; determining a current driving intention of the driver based on the currentoperating information; determining whether a current state parameter of a preset part of the target vehicle matches a current driving intention; generating a prompt message in response to the presenceof a preset component whose current status parameter does not match the current driving intention. This embodiment realizes prompting to the driver when there is a preset component whose current state parameter does not match the driver's current driving intention, thereby assisting the driver to form a good driving habit. Further, the occurrence rate of traffic accidents due to improper operation can be reduced.
