Abstract

The invention provides a milling cutter. This milling cutter is provided with: a tool body which is rotated about an axis; and multiple cutting edges which are provided on a distal-end outer circumferential section of the tool body so as to be spaced from each other in the circumferential direction. Each of the multiple cutting edges includes: a flat surface processing cutting edge which extends along an imaginary plane perpendicular to the axis; and a recessed groove processing cutting edge which protrudes toward the distal end side in the axial direction relative to the flat surface processing cutting edge. The recessed groove processing cutting edge has: a first tilted part which extends more toward the distal end side in the axial direction at portions thereof further in the radially outward direction orthogonal to the axis; a second tilted part which is disposed at the outer side in the radial direction relative to the first tilted part and which extends more toward the proximal end side in the axial direction at portions thereof further in the radially outward direction; and a tip end section which connects the first tilted part and the second tilted part to each other.
