The invention further provides a preparation method and application of the composite nanomaterial. According to the composite nanomaterial provided by the invention, the surface of the cerium dioxide is coated with the carboxylic acid bipyridine ruthenium dye in a bonding way; the binding force of thecerium dioxide and the carboxylic acid bipyridine ruthenium dye is better, so that the structure of the composite material is more stable, and the morphology of the nano cerium dioxide is also not changed; and the cerium dioxide composite nanomaterial has excellent superoxide dismutase (SOD) simulating activity, thus being used as an SOD simulant with a great application potential.
