Abstract

The invention relates to an elevator and a hoist rope tension detection device of the elevator. The hoist rope tension detection device of the elevator comprises detection plates (212) which are connected with pull rods (202) of a rope head combination of hoist ropes (108), transducers (214) which are used for detecting displacement of the detection plates, and a calculating device which is used for calculating tension of the hoist ropes according to detection results of the transducers. Each hoist rope is provided with one detection plate and one transducer. The hoist rope tension detection device further comprises a blocking mechanism which is used to prevent the detection plates from continuously moving so as to prevent the transducers from being damaged when the displacement of the detection plates reaches a predetermined limit value. Accordingly, when the hoist ropes extend to be longer or broken, which makes the pull rods and the detection plates move greatly and the displacementreach the predetermined limit value, the blocking mechanism can be used to prevent the detection plates from continuously moving, so that the detection plates are prevented from colliding with and further damage the transducers.
