Abstract

The invention provides a method for predicting and avoiding congested road sections based on the VANET environment, which is characterized by comprising the steps that a vehicle acquires real-time road condition information and then plans an optimal path; the vehicle travels along the optimal path; and whether there is congestion or not on the road section to be passed is predicted in the traveling process of the vehicle so as to re-adjust the optimal path for travel. After adopting the scheme of the invention, congestion judgment can be better performed on the path according to the acquired real-time road condition information and historical information of the path on the basis of a vehicular ad hoc network technology, and the time when the congested road section is dredged is predicted.Meanwhile, whether or when to make a detour or not or whether the vehicle should travel along the original path or not is guided according to the dredging time. The method saves the travel time of thevehicle and provides better driving experience.
