Abstract

The present invention provides a system and method for controlling multiple PSUs of a server system. An exemplary method includes first determining whether the PSU switches to an AC power source. If it is found that the PSU has not switched to AC power, the method further includes cycling AC power to the PSU and completing a software recovery process. If the PSU is found to switch to AC power, the method further includes determining whether the PSU meets a predetermined criterion. If the PSU meets predetermined benchmarks, the method further includes disabling a cold redundancy mode for the PSU. If the PSU does not meet the predetermined benchmark, the method further includes initiating a wake-up procedure for a first PSU from a cold redundancy mode.
