Abstract

Mechanisms are provided for handling beam link failures. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises detecting a beam link failure of a direct radio link between a transmission point of the network node and a first wireless device. The first wireless device is served by the transmission point on the direct radio link and has an indirect radio link to the transmission point via a second wireless device. The method includes configuring the first wireless device with control signaling using the indirect radio link in response to detecting the beam link failure.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments presented herein relate to a method, a network node, a computer program and a computer program product for handling beam link failures. Embodiments presented herein also relate to a method, wireless device, computer program and computer program product for operation during beam link failure. Background technique [0002] In communication networks, it can be challenging to achieve good performance and capacity for a given communication protocol, its parameters, and the physical environment in which the communication network is deployed. [0003] For example, frequency bands at many different carrier frequencies may be required for future generations of mobile communication systems. For example, low frequency bands may be required to achieve adequate network coverage of users (eg, wireless devices), and high frequency bands (eg, at millimeter wavelength (mmW), ie near and above 30GHz) may be required to achieve required network capacity. In...
