A method for weed control in a direct-sowing rice field without application of chemical herbicides includes steps: leveling the rice field, irrigating, and keeping the water depth in a range of 6-10cm; spreading biochar and an environment-friendly water retaining agent into the rice field subjected to primary irrigation; after germination acceleration of seeds of a waterlogging-resistant rice variety, performing broadcast sowing into the rice field; after rice tillering is finished and the water retaining agent starts degradation, performing secondary irrigation in the rice field, and keepingthe water depth in a range of 3-5cm until rice is ripe. The method has advantages that by combination of moisture management and the biochar and the water retaining agent, zero utilization of the chemical herbicides in the direct-sowing rice field is effectively realized while germination of weeds in the rice field can be effectively controlled, weed damages are reduced, crop production is guaranteed, herbicide resistance of the weeds and ecological balance damage are avoided, and crop failure caused by defects of waterlogging and the like can be avoided while effective weed prevention and control can be realized through zero application of the chemical herbicides.
